雅思大作文

  范文:

Some people assume that technology advances can escalate crimes, while others say the development serves to curb illegal activities. In my opinion, both arguments have their merits.

On the one hand, it is true that technological development has led to new forms of crime. For instance, cybercrimes such as hacking, identity theft, and online fraud are all facilitated by advanced technology. Moreover, criminals can commit transnational crimes or forge IP addresses, making it more difficult and costly for law enforcement to track and apprehend them, thereby potentially encouraging criminal activities.

On the other hand, technology also plays a significant role in crime prevention and detection. For example, the use of surveillance systems, facial recognition, and forensic technology has greatly enhanced law enforcement’s ability to catch and convict criminals. Additionally, the interconnectedness of information across different countries aids in the pursuit of international criminals. Furthermore, the rise of electronic payments has made traditional pickpocketing less feasible, as people carry less cash.

In conclusion, while technology has indeed introduced new methods of committing crimes, it has also provided law enforcement with better tools to prevent and solve crimes. The impact of technological development on crime is, therefore, a double-edged sword1.

  此范文展示了如何平衡地讨论两种观点,并在最后给出自己的看法。在写作时,注意逻辑清晰、论据充分,并且使用恰当的例子来支持你的观点。
